Every single one of our vehicles is monitored by our 24/7 control center. We use the latest GPS technology and a security camera feed to watch the entire trip and to track the bus’ real-time location.
The all-around view of everything that happens on board is achieved by a total of 8 cameras distributed between the inside and outside of the vehicle. Each camera has a purpose. The outside cameras give us an advantage point to better understand a situation in case of an incident. The cameras inside help us keep an eye out for unusual behavior on the road. We have also placed a camera inside the luggage compartment and finally, one monitoring our drivers’ well-being.
About The Drivers
A key factor to ensuring your safety on the road is having the best drivers. From the moment we start the recruiting process, we make sure that we are only hiring highly qualified individuals. The applicants must have at least 2 years of experience as a bus driver, a valid CDL license with a passenger endorsement and a current medical DOT license. To cater better to our costumers, we prefer our drivers to be bilingual and capable of managing up to 70 pounds.
When candidates qualify for an interview, it is conducted by our Operational and Safety managers. Once they’ve passed this portion, they are given RedCoach’s mission statement, and undergo a pre-employment drug test and background check. Afterwards, each driver is road tested; here they’re evaluated on how they drive and how safely they do it. They are required to conduct a pre and post trip process which includes filling out a DVIR. A Complete Driver Qualification paper work is filled out and checked for completeness. New drivers complete H/R paper work and go over company policies and procedures.
Then, there’s the training part which is divided into hands-on, location and customer service. Hands-on training is where the new drivers get the opportunity to interact with the buses to learn exactly where the controls are located and their functions. Meanwhile, location training is where they’re shown the routes to all services and what actions to take. Last, but not least, they are given a customer service training which, in combination to the rest, adds up to 130 hours of training.
